About – The Proximity Architectural Reader has been designed to fit discreetly and stylishly into installations where aesthetics are preeminient. The reader is manufactured using high quality materials and has 3 high intensity LEDs. The reader consists of two main parts, the reader and the insert. Two standard types of inserts are available; glass and stone. We can supply the dimensions of the insert to allow the use of other non-metal materials (see the insert drawing in the web links box on this page). This gives endless possibilities of installing a reader that is truly commiserating with its environment.
The reader itself is also available in 3 finishes.
We have added Genuine HID Technology to the majority of our Paxton readers, they can now read HID 125kHz Proximity tokens, when licensed with an activation card. If required these readers can still be enabled to have Wiegand output, via a separate activation card.
Installation – The Proximity Architectural Reader is designed to be partially sunken into the wall and is fitted using a backbox that is provided as part of the product.
The reader is compatible with Switch2 and Net2 systems and is wired using the color coding on the control unit label.
Operation – A token is read by holding it within close range of the reader. Once a token has been read the control unit looks up the access permissions of that user. Access is granted or denied as appropriate. A green LED light show if access is granted, a red LED light shows if access is denied. At other times the reader LEDs maintain a constant white light.
Please note: The Proximity Architectural Reader inserts are sold separately and do not come supplied with the reader.
