About – The Proximity P series MIFARE® reader is compatible with Net2 systems. The reader is multi-format and can be used with a choice of access tokens including MIFARE®Classic protocol ISO 14443A. It can also be used with EM4100 and Paxton Net2 tokens. The reader is supplied with a black fascia only.
Installation – The reader is wired as shown on the control unit label. Be sure to avoid mounting on metal surfaces or near other proximity readers as this will affect the read range. The cable exits from the center-back of the reader making drilling and mounting easy and accurate.
Operation – A token is read by holding it within close range of the reader. Once a token has been read the control unit looks up the access permissions of that user. Access is then granted or denied as appropriate. A green LED light flashes if access is granted, a red LED light flashes if access is denied.
We have added Genuine HID Technology to the P50 Mifare readers, they can now read HID 125kHz Proximity tokens, when licensed with an activation card. If required these readers can still be enabled to have Wiegand output, via a separate activation card.
Replacement fascias are available in black and white/grey from the Paxton Portal.
